  • Paper-cuts for window decoration are stuck to windows during traditional Chinese festivals to jazz up the joyous atmosphere. The paper cuts feature subjects symbolizing luck, wishes, harmony, and happiness etc. The paper cutter is free to choose the forms of their works. Apart form the “corner patterns”, and the “round flowers” cut from folded paper, there are no strict rules on other creations. These paper cuts are supposed to suit ordinary grills and not to affect lighting, so they are not big in size and hollowed out for letting in light. To make the decorations more artistic and to create a fantastic atmosphere, a window is usually stuck with quite a few paper-cuts that are related to each other in content or form.
